January 18, 2004, at Hillcrest Church, Sioux Falls, SD
Background information: I was born and raised in sunny California. The two places I spent the majority of time were Fresno (my growing up years) and Sacramento (the latter years). I have one older sister, Sherry, who is an avid blogger and writer. My parents moved out to Sioux Falls from California in 2009 to be closer to their only grandchildren. Jenny's family, as well as our extended family, still lives out in California. I am a "second career" pastor. I used to work in the construction field... from hands on to management. I loved working with people and administration. God is good and has helped us create a home and family at Hillcrest... we couldn't be happier.
Hobbies and Passions: I love to work on "stuff". When I'm not working on the church programs I like to work with wood, cars, my "Frankenstein" chopper and fixing broken toys. My kids think I can fix anything... I'll keep that going as long as I can. I love to spend time with my family, wrestling on the floor, tossing the ball or having tea parties with the little princess in our home. I like to golf when the opportunity comes, SCUBA dive with my best friend Jenny, cook and build spreadsheet in Excel (yes, I really do like this). Jenny and I love to sit on the couch at the end of the day (we call it couch time) and catch up on the goings on in our lives. That connection is important for our mental stability.
I love the church and serving God's people. I have been at Hillcrest since 1998. Not all of it has been easy, but it has always been following God's plan.
