3/3/2020 0 Comments What is My Part? Are your prayers being answered? Are there things that can keep prayers from being answered? We must believe that God is capable of answering our prayer. We must first trust God. Mark tells us if we hold a grudge or have not forgiven someone who has wronged us, it can be in the way of our own forgiveness. We must forgive if we expect to be forgiven. In our relationships we must be considerate of others, so our prayers will not be hindered.
Questions for further thought: 1. Consider relationships in your life. Is there anyone you need to forgive? 2. Do you trust God to answer your prayers? Challenge: We do have a responsibility in receiving answers to our prayer: trusting in God, forgiving others, and being considerate of the people in our life.

3/2/2020 0 Comments In Jesus' NameSince I became a believer, I have heard people pray – in Jesus’ name. Frequently those words are the end to my prayers. What does that really mean? Is my prayer consistent with how Jesus would pray? Does using Jesus’ name guarantee that prayers will be answered? John tells us that Jesus will do what we ask in his name, so the Son will bring glory to the Father. Are the things asked for in prayer bringing glory to God?
Questions for further thought: 1. What does it mean to ask for something in another’s name? 2. Do your prayers bring glory to God? Challenge: To ask for something in another’s name indicates knowledge of that person. How well do you know Jesus? |
