9/12/2024 0 Comments Be Humble, Don't StumbleSelfishness can be ruinous to any relationship you have. Humility, genuine humility, can build stronger relationships with those around us. Being humble involves having a true perspective about ourselves (Romans 12:3). It does not mean that we should put ourselves down, but we should lift others up. Before God, we are sinners, saved only by God’s grace, but we are saved and therefore have great worth in God’s Kingdom. We are to lay aside selfishness and treat others with respect and common courtesy. Considering others’ interests as more important than our own links us with Christ, who was a true example of humility.
Questions for further thought: 1. What is a time in your life where you put your own interests in front of that of others? 2. How can you put others' interests in front of your own? Challenge: As you go throughout your day think about what you’re doing. Be willing to help others with their tasks. Ask God to show you areas in your life where you may be acting selfishly without knowing.
