On the way, the Eastern tribes built an altar. The Western tribes, at first, misunderstood the purpose of the altar and started to build up their forces to go to war against the Eastern tribes. (They were used to wars at the time.) But, just before war started, they decided to sit down and talk about the purpose first and the war was diverted!
Questions for further thought: 1. When have you resorted to anger before communicating with the other person? 2. What was the outcome of that anger? Was it beneficial? Challenge: Before you take the step of anger or arguing with someone, step back and talk about the other person’s motive first. It could help resolve an issue before it gets bigger.
