In this passage, Jesus answers the question about how many times I need to forgive my brother of a sin against me. He mentions a number, but then tells the parable of the unmerciful servant. Setting the number aside, we need to forgive those who have wronged us as often as we want to be forgiven by God. We are not perfect and sin often. If we want God to forgive us, we can’t harbor unforgiveness in our heart. We need to forgive and let it go.
Questions for further thought: 1. Who might you need to forgive? 2. What is stopping you from forgiving that person? Challenge: Ask God to remove the item that is hindering you from forgiving the wrong and then take the step of forgiving the individual.
