God Makes It Simple

Exodus 20:1-12; Matthew 22:37-40

God gave Moses 10 commandments for the Israelites. In true human fashion, the 10 commandments were expanded into 613 laws in the Old Testament.  Why do we make things more complicated than they needed to be?  God then sent Christ to redeem us and while here, Jesus said the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love others.  If we simply kept these two commands, then, we will naturally keep the other eight commandments.

1. How have you shown love to God lately?
2. How have you shown love to others lately?

​Challenge: Showing love to others can be done through an act of service.  Consider volunteering in an area at church or in the community (e.g.  Feeding SD Food Distribution, Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Music Ministry)
