12/5/2024 0 Comments Guided by the SpiritRomans 8:14 reminds us that those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. Being guided by the Spirit isn’t about a dramatic voice or sign but a relationship with God where His Spirit prompts and directs us daily. Asking, "Tell me what to do, God," involves a willingness to quiet our distractions and listen to the Spirit’s leading. This means trusting His direction even when it challenges our plans or expectations (“Because I said so!” sounds a lot different coming from God than it does saying it to someone else, doesn’t it?). The Spirit guides us in truth and empowers us to live out God’s will. By staying in step with Him, we reflect our identity as God’s children.
Questions for further thought: • How do you discern the Holy Spirit’s guidance in your life? • Are there distractions that make it hard to hear God’s voice clearly? Challenge: Spend time in prayer, specifically asking the Holy Spirit to guide your decisions this week. Be intentional about listening and journal any impressions or Scriptures that come to mind.
