In these verses, Paul says he has learned to be content regardless of his circumstances. Society would lead us to believe that we can only be content if we have the next best this or that. God calls us to a higher standard. God calls us to have faith in Him; be content in whatever situation He has given you and have no fear as He has the situation in hand.
Questions for further thought: 1. What does it mean to be content? 2. What would it take for you to be content? Challenge: Th best way to practice contentment is to be thankful. Make a list of all the items and people in your life that God has given you that are blessings and take time to Thank Him for each one. Note: Keep this list and the next time you feel discontent creeping into your life, pull it out and count your many blessings.
