In this passage, we learn Paul has a thorn or an affliction of sorts. He does not provide details on what it is or how much pain it gives him for good reason. The point is not the thorn, but the point is regardless of the thorn, he delights in the Lord and continues to serve and praise Christ in order to spread the Good News. We may have a “thorn” like Paul did that God chooses not to take way to demonstrate that God’s grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in our weakness. Don’t let your thorn slow you down.
Questions for further thought: 1. What is your thorn? 2. What has it prevented you from doing lately that God has called you to do? Challenge: Despite your thorn, love God and love others as God has designed you to do today.
