David, as we know, had his time in the wilderness - usually by trying to stay one step ahead of Saul, his father-in-law, who was trying to kill him! So, he obviously longed for God to look upon his situation and give him some kind of comfort in his time of trial. We do the same thing (particularly in times of trial). But, when we search, do we always find Him right away (in our minds)?
Questions for further thought: 1. Do you sometimes question whether God is listening to our cries of wanting Him, particularly in the tougher times of life? 2. Do you remember that, as Pastor Doug has often preached: “God didn’t change, and God didn’t move.”? Challenge: We need to remember that God knows that we need Him AND He’s always with us. Lord, please help us remember that you never moved, or will move, away from us no matter how we are doing. Thank you for your wonderful presence always! Amen.
