6/5/2024 0 Comments Obeying Despite DoubtPeter, Andrew, James, and John had fished on the sea of Galilee their entire lives. They were experts at when and where to find fish – and they were exhausted after a long night in their boats. Peter wasn’t afraid to tell Jesus he was wrong. But Peter obeyed because of his respect for Jesus. He trusted Jesus.
Questions for further thought: 1. Does God require a perfect attitude in our hearts when we are obedient? 2. If a perfect attitude isn’t necessary, what value is there in trying to align our hearts with God’s will? Challenge: We see the fruits of obedience even if we are all tapped out of emotional energy to do God’s will – or when we think we know better than God in a particular situation! Have either of those situations happened to you? What did you learn from the situation?
