8/5/2024 0 Comments One Tree too ManyMankind has the unique advantage of being created in God’s image. This is not a physical likeness, because God does not normally inhabit a human form. This likeness is spiritual – an inherent spiritual similarity to the Creator. God placed the first humans in the perfect situation, with all their needs provided and His presence to literally dwell with Adam and Eve. So why did He plant a tree that was off limits to the first couple? Wasn’t that just one tree too many?
Questions for further thought: 1. Why do you think God put a tree in the garden with beautiful fruit that was forbidden to eat? 2. What was the actual temptation with which the serpent enticed Eve? Challenge: Meditate on what it means to be created in the image of God. Write down some thoughts on what that means to you practically and personally.
