On the trip into Egypt, Joseph must have had serious reason to doubt whether his vision of his brothers bowing to him, or ever being in charge of anything, ever would come to pass. But God caused the captain of the guard to see Joseph’s value and made a good place for him – even though he wasn’t yet at the ultimate fulfillment of his dream.
Questions for further thought: 1. Have you ever been in a tough spot like Joseph’s? What was your reaction? 2. Have you found contentment in a job or situation that you realized wasn’t quite yet the vocation God planned for you? Challenge: Take a look at where you are in life. Are you just starting out, still waiting for a hint from God about your destiny? Are you in a waiting season? Are you near the fulfillment of your dream? Ask for the right heart-situation in the circumstance you’re in.
