12/11/2024 0 Comments Staying True - At a CostJoseph is in charge of his master’s household, which likely was a prosperous one. Many slaves in his position would simply accept the attention of the lady of the house, perhaps even as a way to gain favor. But Joseph remained faithful to his master and to God, then paid a price for it and was thrown into prison. It must have seemed that God’s vision for him was more distant than ever, but that didn’t stop him from being obedient to God’s law.
Questions for further thought: 1. Have you ever successfully thrown off a temptation like Joseph did? 2. Has obedience to God ever cost you anything? (Hint: If you’ve ever paid a tithe, the answer is yes.) Challenge: Thank God that we live in a country where we rarely have situations that make us choose between obedience to God and prison or worse. Thank Him for the times when you have been able to resist temptation.
