11/9/2020 0 Comments That's Heavy, ManI’m sure that every human who has ever lived has dealt with a heaviness of spirit at some point. That includes the greatest figures in the Bible. As Pastor Doug pointed out, even Jesus was overwhelmed with sorrow in the Garden. Many of David’s psalms were written when he was in a very dark place. Jesus’ example here is a good one for us. When our soul is heavy, it’s a good idea to ask those close to us to help us bear and lift the burden through prayer.
Questions for further thought: 1. Can you identify a specific time when your soul felt burdened? What did you do? 2. Who would you feel comfortable asking to pray for you when struggling with a heavy soul? Challenge: Now is the time for us to practice the stillness Pastor Doug spoke of in Week One. If you have not tried it yet, sit still and think about God and how He alone can make your heart light. Share this with one person.
