The Downfall of Pride

Proverbs 16:18

Proud people take little account of their weaknesses and do not anticipate stumbling blocks.  They think they are better and smarter than other people.  When in this state of mind, they are easily tripped up.  Ironically, proud people seldom realize that pride is their problem, although others around them know it well.

Questions for further thought:
1. Have you ever thought that you are better than someone else?  Why?
2. What are some of the weaknesses you have to look out for?

​Challenge: Although hard to do, ask someone you trust whether pride has blinded you to warning signs.  If you don’t think you need to do this, pride may already be controlling you more than you think.  So, humble yourself and ask someone.  This person may be able to help you avoid a fall.  Also, don’t forget to pray.  Ask God to help you.
