12/9/2024 0 Comments Too Big for His Britches?Sometimes we wish that God would give us a direct vision of what he wants us to do. But even when He does, that doesn’t mean that our path will be easy, especially given the all-too-human situations we find ourselves in. Jacob should know that playing favorites leads to trouble, but Joseph bears the consequences. Joseph stays close to the truth and narcs on his brothers … and then adds salt to the wound by telling them and his parents that his family is destined to bow down to him! Knowing the truth can be uncomfortable.
Questions for further thought: 1. Do you sometimes wish you had a direct word from God about His will for you? 2. Do you sometimes resent others who seem to have a clear path for their lives? Challenge: While it can be unsettling to know God’s will, we still need to seek it. In your prayers this week, ask God to give you not only clarity but for a responsive heart to hear it.
