We Are Not Alone

Luke 5:10-11; Psalm 25:4

“Don’t be afraid.” That message appears 23 times throughout the Bible, 9 of them from Jesus. So on the one hand, it’s OK to have a holy awe of God – but we aren’t supposed to be in a constant state of trembling fear. God knows we don’t have the faith or wisdom or anything, really, to represent him on Earth. That’s why we have his Word. He shows us his ways and teaches us his paths. 

Questions for further thought:
1. How do we learn more about God (the Sunday school answer is right!)?
2. Who teaches us?  

​Challenge: Dedication to learning God’s word truly can be hard in this world of distractions. What makes you feel the most as though Jesus is with you? Combine the fun stuff, like worship music that fills your heart with joy, with Bible reading. Make it as easy as possible to spend time with God. Jesus is a good teacher.
