Who Will You Listen To?

John 8:42-44

Eve did not act on her own in the garden. There was another voice whispering in her ear, and that voice is still active today. We have to choose whether we will listen to our Father or to Satan, the father of lies. He loves to twist truth as he did in the garden. Treasury agents learning to detect counterfeit bills train by learning every characteristic of genuine currency. In the same way, we uncover Satan’s deceptions by studying the Word of God.

Questions for further thought:
1. What persistent lies about you or about God do you struggle to overcome?
2. What methods do you employ to learn and use the truth of God to strengthen your faith?  

​Challenge: Take one or two of the lies you described in question 1 and search the Bible until you find the truths that demolish the lie(s). Write those truths down and meditate on them this coming week.
