Background information: I have lived in Sioux Falls longer than any other place I’ve called home. I came to South Dakota, from California, back in 1998 and in 2018 I celebrated 20 years of ministry here at Hillcrest Church. When I first came, I served as the Student Ministry Pastor but just a few years later I took on the role of Lead Pastor in 2003. When it comes to ministry, I value conservative biblical preaching with an emphasis on both loving God and loving others. I value allowing and equipping people to serve in the ways and areas God has called them and I value unity with each other, not only within the walls, but with all church denominations.
My wife, Jenny, and I have one child left at home (Ryan), the other two (Brad and Kaycie) are adults and carving their path through life. Jenny works as a nurse, and you can see her many Sundays serving at the Welcome Center, as she is a real people person! As a family, we love to camp and take short trips to Minneapolis or the Black Hills, as well as trips back to California to visit family. I have a Jeep that has become quite the hobby for me. I like tearing it apart and putting it back together and then driving it with the Jeep Club I’m a part of at various rock crawling events in the Black Hills.
God has been good to our family, though we have had our fair share of trials, he remains faithful. Being at Hillcrest for over 20 years has allowed me to see God’s faithfulness in many families. Serving Hillcrest continues to be one of the great joys and privileges in my life.
