The Lord answers prayers, encourages, gives strength, cares for the humble, protects, saves, and works out his plans for our lives. His faithful love endures forever! When faced with his majesty, our souls burst with thankfulness and praise! If you ever struggle with what to pray when you want to honor God, open the psalms for a wealth of inspiration.
Questions for further thought: 1. What is your favorite way to praise the Lord? 2. What has God done in your life that you have not yet thanked him for? Challenge: Choose a favorite psalm today to start memorizing. Write it out, post it somewhere you will see it every day, put the words to a tune – do whatever it takes to hide another piece of God’s word in your heart.

12/2/2020 0 Comments Credit Where It's DueHannah made it very clear that her first born son was an answer to prayer. The name she gave him – Samuel – meant “asked of God” or “heard by God.” She also kept her vow to give him back to the Lord in service at the Tabernacle where she praised God with joy! How beautiful it is when our gratitude towards the Lord leads us to sacrificial worship similar to Hannah’s!
Questions for further thought: 1. When God answers your prayers, how do you respond? 2. Do you thank God publicly for his blessings? Why or why not? Challenge: Remember to share your thankfulness and praise with others so that all the glory goes to God. He deserves the highest place in our hearts and lives! 12/1/2020 0 Comments Tell God About ItWhen you have a heavy burden on your heart or a deep desire within your soul, tell God about it. Don’t waste mental effort just wishing life was different. Our Creator delights in blessing us with good things, although he sometimes has us wait so we can grow in our dependance on him. Hannah is a great example of someone who discovered what an immense comfort it is to pour out your heart to God.
Questions for further thought: 1. What is your first instinct when you face a new heartache or a difficult challenge? 2. If your answer to #1 is not “seek God in prayer,” how can you start refocusing your thoughts in that direction? Challenge: Consider journaling as a way to keep a record of all you have lifted up to God in prayer, his answers, and your thankfulness for his provision. We all need reminders sometimes of God’s history of faithfulness in our lives. |
