“Jesus didn’t come to earth to establish a new religion. He came to restore a broken relationship. He came to make the primary, primary again. The secondary activity of obedience to the law of God was always intended to serve the primary activity: to love God and enjoy Him forever.” ~Charles Swindoll. Secondary activities (serving, hobbies, etc.) aren’t bad as long as they remain secondary to the invitation of God: “Come to Me.”
Questions for further thought:
1. What secondary activities are you putting before your relationship with Jesus?
2. How do you nurture your relationship with Christ?
Challenge: Put aside those activities that you identified in question 1 until after you have worked on question 2.
