Be Humble

1 Peter 5:4-6; Philippians 2:3

Humility is the "anti-pride". Paul tells us to elevate others, to consider others better than yourself. That is a tall order in today's society , as the "self" is thought to be all important. "I deserve this so I will do that, no matter who it hurts." "I am right and you are wrong." Humility is the only antidote to pride.


Questions for further thought:
1. Would your closest friend view you as prideful or humble?

2. How can you change from prideful to humble?  


​Challenge: Jesus is the best example of what it looks like to be humble. The King of Kings stripped himself of his glory and came to earth to live with us, often in poverty, to bear our sins on the cross. Thank Him today for His sacrifice and ask Him for a spirit of humbleness.
