6/4/2024 0 Comments Close Enough to ListenLuke tells us a large group of people were gathered to listen to Jesus on the shores of Lake Galilee. Surely it would have been easier for Peter, Andrew, James, and John to find somewhere else to clean their nets. Maybe they were trying to listen to Jesus, or maybe they were just waiting for him to give them instructions but felt like they had to keep working. Regardless, they were right there when he needed a boat in order to keep teaching the people.
Questions for further thought: 1. In the busy-ness of life, especially at work, do you find ways to listen for Jesus? 2. What habits could you add to your daily life to do a better job of listening? Challenge: Whether you haul garbage, do IT work, or teach, there is a way to practice listening to God’s will amid the noise of your everyday work. Find one and try to put it into practice this week.
