Have you been guilty of that? I know I have. When we compare ourselves with others, we may feel a sense of pride because we think we are better and we all know how God feels about that. (See James 4:6) But when we measure ourselves against God’s standards, it become painstakingly obvious that we have no basis for pride. When we are good at something and do it well, we all want to tell others and be recognized. However, we mustn’t let that recognition become a pathway for pride. Better to seek the praise of God rather than praise of man.
1. How does my life measure up to what God desires for my life? 2. What should I change about the way I live in order to worship and seek God’s commendation through Jesus Christ? Challenge: If you have not received the forgiveness of sin offered through faith in Jesus Christ, pray to receive that today. Jesus offers you forgiveness of sin and His righteousness through repentance and faith in Him. What is stopping you?
