It is inevitable that disagreements will pop up from time to time. If we are able to agree on something, even a small point, it will help us to see the other person or group as less of a threat. The apostles disagreed and could still call each other "brother" because they shared a common goal. Remembering our common goals and dreams can motivate us to treat each other with love and respect.
Questions for further thought:
1. Are you good at finding common ground with those whom you disagree?
2. How could you cultivate that talent?
Challenge: It is a gift to be able to find common ground in the midst of disagreement. Pray for the wisdom and ability to find ways to be a peacemaker. Find someone in your life who has this talent and learn from them.
