Don't Open the Door

Ephesians 4:26-27

What does it mean to give the devil a foothold? How does this usually happen? Sin is the short answer. When we “hide,” rationalize or stubbornly fail to admit our sin, we give Satan room to work. Confession to God, to ourselves, and to anyone we have hurt short circuits the devil’s plans and keeps sin from compounding. Confession and repentance are key weapons in the war for your mind.

Questions for further thought:
1. Can you think of a time in your life when sin gave the devil a foothold? What was the outcome?
2. How does Satan use your sin and twist it into lies to hinder your relationship with God?
