1/18/2024 0 Comments God Said ItThere are two ways that God has revealed himself to us. The first way is called general revelation, meaning we can see that God exists because of what we see in creation. The second way is called special revelation, which is through direct communication like prophets but, more significantly, the Bible. Since God has chosen to reveal himself through special revelation, it requires language, and God has chosen masculine terms. He is our Father, Husband, and King. The way God has revealed himself to us might be significant.
Question 1: Why do you think God refers to himself in masculine terms? Question 2: What would be your response to the pronoun tensions in our culture as it refers to the masculine names for God? Challenge: Do a search for the names of God and see what themes jump out.
