6/10/2024 0 Comments Honor God with Your BestThe first chapter of Daniel is a great example of how to make the best of things in a rough situation. The young nobles taken as captives from Israel could have allowed their depressing circumstances to cause them to give up on life and/or on God. Instead, they honored the Lord by doing what they could to follow His Law while being respectful of the people in charge. They also honored God by applying their talents to the tasks set before them – despite where God had placed them.
Questions for further thought: 1. When have you found yourself needing to serve in a place you didn’t want to be? 2. In undesirable classes, jobs, etc., how can you put in your best effort? Challenge: If you are feeling burnt out or disheartened by your current circumstances, ask the Lord for a perspective change. Try doing everything as if it is for Him, your loving Creator, rather than for your boss, teacher, parents, etc. You might even experience a bit of joy!
