How Deep the Father's Love

Matthew 7:7-11

How we react when God doesn’t act as we think He should has a lot to do with what we really believe about His character. Significant hardship, great loss, illness, and a list of other troubles can make us question His love. This passage, and many others, illustrate the truth that God is a good Father who sees us as His children. He loves us and wants to give us good gifts. He longs for us to lean into His love when the hard times come and trust in His care. 


Questions for further thought:
1. How has your relationship with your father affected your image of God?

2. Where does this image come from, and how does it affect your approach to Him?  


​Challenge: The fact that God sent His son to die for us is the ultimate proof of his great love for you and for me. Meditate on Romans 8:35-39 today. Change the words “us” and “we” to “me.”
