1/17/2019 0 Comments Is the Bible Subjective? When I read this verse that Paul wrote, I can’t help but think that the pot is calling the kettle black! Seriously, Paul is way harder to understand than Peter! I do love this verse because it shows the humanness we have in communicating the eternal truths of God. Sometimes when we read the scriptures, it is not clear. Sometimes, through careful study, we can uncover the meaning but many times it is guess work. I’m not too bothered by this, but some people get unnerved. I try to remember that if it’s not 100% clear, God must not want me to major on that topic. I give people room in interpretation and I hope they afford me the same grace.
1. What biblical teaching seem unclear to you? 2. How much do they really matter to the bigger picture of God’s redemptive work in the world? Challenge: The next time you are talking about the things you value in a church, be willing to hear the values of others and remind yourself that un your differences you must compromise to find unity.
