Practical Atheism

Psalms 14:1; Hebrews 11:6 

While no Christian would ever be guilty of being an atheist, many Christians are guilty of being practical atheists. Practical atheism lives as if there is no God, instead of believing there isn’t a God, like atheists do. An atheist does not pray, read the bible, walk by faith and lives only for this life. If some of those similarities are too close for comfort don’t wallow in guilt or shame. Instead confess it as sin and ask God continually for a changed heart. You do not want to live another day as if He were not alive and able to work miracles. 


Questions for further thought:
1. Have you ever thought about what (if anything) you may have in common with an atheist? 

2. Which of the things mentioned do you need to change to avoid living the same as atheists do? 


​Challenge: Confess any ways that you may not be living out your faith and start living the way God wants you to.
