Seeking the one true God

Psalm 84:2; Psalm 107:9; Psalm 42:1–2

David’s heart seems to be burning within him as he seeks after God day and night. That kind of passion seems hard to sustain in the modern world, with all of its distractions. But maybe the reason we turn our attention to so many different things and people is because we have a hunger for something more: eternal relationship and love. If humans have a God-shaped hole in our hearts, perhaps the problem is that our perception of who and what He is might be flawed … because He is so much more than we are capable of understanding.


Questions for further thought:
1. How can we gain a better understanding of God’s character?

2. How can we stir our hearts to long for God on a more regular basis?
