7/23/2019 0 Comments Show Real LoveIn helping people you really need to examine their real needs and how you can best help them. In this passage we are challenged to love our neighbor as ourselves. If we were in need, would we really want a band aid to our problem or a long- term solution? Of course if someone has no food today we are called to feed them, but we need to reach beyond today and help them figure out how the future can be better. Before you act, ask yourself, “if I were in this situation how would I want to be helped?”
1. In what ways have you helped others in the past? How did you go about it? 2. What were the results of the help you gave? Challenge: Consider your answers to the questions above, how did you do in helping? Maybe it went great and you did the right thing, maybe the help was misused and not effective. The important thing to remember is that you were willing to help, keep that willingness and move forward as opportunities present themselves.
