Supporting Roles

1 Corinthians 12:21–27

As humans, our expectations are always colored by our own gifts and virtues. Why doesn’t everyone else take a turn at supervising kiddos? Why doesn’t everyone else help build sets for VBS? Why doesn’t everyone else stand up and lead worship? But all the ways that people take part in the body of the church are needed, and we need to honor those whose roles are different than ours.

Questions for further thought:
1. Do you ever find yourself irritated with other “body parts” of the church?
2. What’s the best way you can support people whose roles in the church are different from yours?  

Challenge: Identify 3 people at church who perform different functions in the church and pray a blessing on their work.
