11/1/2021 0 Comments tempted in Small WaysWe most often think of self-control as the ability to resist big temptations, but in our everyday lives, it’s the small fumbles that trip us up: an irritated retort when kids interrupt a phone call, a few more minutes of web surfing when there’s work to do. Adam and Eve’s temptation was pretty small, too – it was just a bite of fruit, right? – but it had a world-changing impact.
Questions for further thought: 1. Name two issues with self-control that you find yourself excusing because they’re “small.” 2. In what ways have you successfully gained self-control, and how can those be applied to other areas where you need more discipline? Challenge: Ask God for insight into areas where you need to exert more self-control.
