The World's Second Chance

John 3:14-18

The story of Jesus is really about a second chance for the entire world. The perfect relationship with God that Adam shattered was restored by the sacrifice of Christ. The Father has always shown a bent toward forgiveness, not condemnation. Through Christ all of humanity receives the opportunity to live a life more in tune with God’s original plan for His children. 

Questions for further thought:
1. Do you picture God more as a God of condemnation or forgiveness? Where does that picture come from?

2. Are you taking full advantage of the second chance Jesus gave you?  

Challenge: Over time, we can come to take the gift of eternal life through Christ for granted. How are you making the most of your opportunity to truly know God? How are you letting others know about the second chance God gave us all to live for him through His Son?
