The Bible is the inspired Word of God given directly to us to know Him and love Him as He loved us first. John 1:1 tells us directly who the Word is. John 1:14 further explains who Jesus truly IS and what He should be to us, and how we should follow Him. And note that Jesus is also in the Old Testament as well, but was not down here – yet – in corporeal form. God does not change, though, regardless of Old or New Testament narratives.
Questions for further thought:
1. Do we ponder or pray about, in a real way, exactly who Jesus is?
2. Do we pray on the sacrifice of Jesus FOR us in the way we ought? How often?
Challenge: Truly, read John 1:1, and then John 1:14, to get a true idea of who exactly Jesus IS, and how we should understand His supreme sacrifice for us. Pray to be thankful, daily, for that sacrifice, and to read His word daily, also, with that sacrifice in mind.
