3/3/2023 0 Comments Looking ForwardKnow that the struggles of this world, with this body, will not endure. We press on through them now, knowing that far greater things await us in just a moment’s time. The world is not our home, only something temporary before something far greater. And God has washed you clean of all your shame. The past is no longer what matters, but only pressing on towards the goal. For God is with you to the end of the age.
Questions for further thought: 1. How does focusing on the future goal of heaven affect your day-to-day decisions? 2. How does this future hope affect your view of present struggles? Challenge: You don’t need a special time period to work on giving something up. Have something you’re struggling with? Talk with your accountability people and let today be day one.

We are called upon to strengthen each other and lift each other up. One aspect of that call is leaning on, and/or providing accountability for, each other. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are called to love each other, even if sometimes that love can be tough.
Questions for further thought: 1. Who are the people in your life who hold you accountable? 2. What things do you need to be held accountable for? Challenge: If you don’t have an accountability person, ask around and find one! If you do, set up a meeting and check on where you are right now. Thank that person for being an important part of your journey. 3/1/2023 0 Comments A TempleIt’s easier to justify action that doesn’t harm or affect others, but only oneself. After all, it’s your body, your heart, and your mind and you can do what you like with them, right? Paul says Christians need to think differently about themselves. God lovingly crafted you and the Holy Spirit now calls you home. The Israelites called the home of God the Temple, something holy and sacred. Would you treat the Temple like you treat yourself?
Questions for further thought: 1. How do you view yourself? 2. What would your day look like if you treated yourself like God’s Temple? Challenge: Read and write out Psalm 139. |
