5/3/2019 0 Comments The Power of the ThroneThere are many science fiction stories where the goal of the main characters is to be on the throne. The throne symbolizes power and control. Satan has battled to take over the throne numerous times throughout the Bible. Each time, he has failed. We have a God that cannot, and will not, ever fall off His throne in Heaven. He has all the power and control we will ever need.
1. How does the picture of the battle between God and the devil cause you to seek Him for guidance? 2. How does knowing that God cannot be overthrown give you peace about His power? Challenge: Have a conversation with another believer you trust (spouse, family member, close friend) about where you need God’s power to intervene in both your life and the other believer’s life. Pray for each other to let God intervene on your lives.

5/2/2019 0 Comments The Dead Will RiseThe scripture describes what will happen to believers who have died. They will go to Heaven and be reunited with the Savior. When the Second Coming does (finally) happen, the dead will rise and bring those of us still alive on Earth into Heaven to always be with our Lord and Savior.
1. Have you prepared for the Second Coming? If so, how? 2. How would you encourage others to prepare as Paul suggested to the church in Thessalonica? Challenge: Think about how you can encourage others to prepare for the time when Jesus returns again. Pray and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in the direction He is calling you to serve each other is this way. 5/1/2019 0 Comments The Eternal SacrificeIn the Old Testament days, the High Priest would need to enter the interior of the Temple on behalf of the Israelites once a year. He would bring ashes and blood of animals sacrificed as atonement for the sins of all the Israelites. The author of Hebrews writes about how Jesus’ entered the Most Holy of Places; and His sacrifice of His body and blood now represents the atonement of our sins.
1. What areas of your life today require the atonement that Jesus’ death provides? 2. Have you prayed for Jesus to remove your past and current sins from your life? If so, how did that change your life? Challenge: Pray to God for the forgiveness of your sins and to turn from those sins when tempted in the future. |
