Miss Tarina's 5th Sunday Sermons features the Armor of God. We know armor allows a soldier to be able to focus less on protecting himself and more on being on the attack. In the same way, as we put our faith in spiritual armor, we can be freed from worries and fears and rather reach out to others.
This Sunday we look at the Belt of Truth. Our culture says truth is relative- that there is no absolute truth. We know the Bible is a reliable source of truth. This belt spiritually keeps our armor in place and holds our faith together.
In our final week of the series we are going to look at communion. How hard can that be, right? WRONG! What kind of bread do we use, do we use wine or juice, is it every week, once a month or some other schedule, is it the body and blood of Jesus or just symbolic, is it served to you or should you go up and receive it, does it forgive sin, can anyone take it or just members? This week, Pastor Doug will set us all straight on what’s the right way! Good luck Pastor Doug!
The way we practice and live out our faith should be something we can agree upon, right? WRONG! What should you wear to church, can you play cards, drink alcohol, date, listen to Rock and Roll, see an R rated movie, can women lead in the church, are men the boss of their families, is there a right and wrong bible to use, is worship to have drums or just an organ or no instruments at all? This week, Pastor Doug will set us all straight on what are the right and wrong traditions in the church! Good luck Pastor Doug!
Jesus said he would prepare a place for us but how do we get there? Salvation is the goal of our faith, so it should be the one thing we can all agree upon, right? WRONG! Are we are saved through a salvation prayer, family faith, heritage, baptism, Holy Spirit baptism, good works, election, grace or some other method? The church fights about this more than any other issue! This week, Pastor Doug will set us all straight on what’s the right way! Good luck Pastor Doug!
Romans 1:19-20; 5:8-9; 10:9; John 3:16-17; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Corinthians 1:10
Jesus said that we are to be baptized. Simple enough, right? WRONG! Immersion, pouring, sprinkling, infant, child, adult, needed for salvation, not needed for salvation, in the name of the Trinity or just God or just Jesus, tanks, rivers, lakes, public, private, spirit baptism and a few more! Bet you had no idea how many things the church can fight on regarding baptism. This week, Pastor Brian will set us all straight on what’s the right way! Good luck Pastor Brian!
