When Jesus left the earth, he said that he would leave us his Spirit, the Holy Spirit, and that we would continue his work as his hands and feet through the initiation of the Church. Christ is in us as we serve and love the world he created. This Sunday, Pastor Doug will help us see what it means to have Christ in us and how this truth will help the world see him.
Jesus was born on earth just over 2000 years ago. He was born a man, but he was also God. He came to be with us and that is why he was called Emmanuel. Jesus had a plan and that was to show us love and to allow that love to culminate in an act of service so great that it saved mankind. This Christmas, we celebrate the day that God loved us to come into his creation and we celebrate that we have found Christ on earth!
The world does not know the real Christ very well. They have a skewed idea of who he is. As Christians we know that he did not come into existence 2000 years ago but that he has always been. This week, Pastor Doug is going to show us the places in the Old Testament where Christ showed up thousands of years before his human birth! Come on over to Hilcrest this Sunday as we start a new series called “Finding Christ in Christmas”.
