A road trip may not have a destination, but a journey does. Hillcrest has been on a journey that Jesus started 2000 years ago and we are heading to the destination of His return. In the final week of this series, Pastor Doug is going to pull out the master plan (road map) and talk about the next stops on the Journey. What’s in store for us and what does God have planned?
Any good road trip includes great stops along the way. During Hillcrest’s journey we have our own versions of giant balls of string and Jolly Green Giants. This week, Adam’s Thermal Foundation will join us as one of our awesome ministry partners and Pastor Doug will present them with a check to build the High School in Ottoro, Ethiopia! We are going to celebrate with a church picnic and beanbag tournament after the morning services.
We are all on a journey and sometimes it takes someone to help organize and direct that journey, so we don’t miss the awesome things on the way or get lost in the process. Hillcrest has had a great history of pastors to help guide her toward the destination God has set. This week, Pastor Brian will interview Pastor Doug as he celebrates his 20th year at Hillcrest. You might learn something new about Doug and we know he will use this opportunity to continue to point us towards the journey God has us on!
73 years ago, in 1945, ten people gathered in a garage on North Minnesota Ave and had the first worship service. Their early dreams were for this church to love God and love others. They experienced great trials and great celebrations, they persevered and never gave up! This week, Pastor Doug will tell the story of how God’s purpose in the church has been lived out in the story of Hillcrest. Don’t miss the start of “The Journey”.
