The breastplate protects his heart, the most important organ we have. So, Paul uses the breastplate to compare the protection piece we need to be righteous.

What are demons? Are they red? Were they created by the Devil? Can they hurt us or cause us to do bad things? Where are they and what is their purpose? Does God have any control over them? Not knowing these things about demons can cause us to be fearful of them.
